In 2006, management consultant and entrepreneur Robert Holt approached STRATEMARCO to help him organise the 2-day inaugural conference for Success Factor Partnering, his boutique outsourcing and sourcing consulting firm. Our brief included selecting the venue, identifying and securing speakers, seeking sponsorship opportunities, marketing and PR for the conference, producing all speaker and delegate materials, and ensuring that everything ran smoothly during the event itself.

In the end, The 2006 Best Practice Conference: Defining leading edge practices in outsourcing and strategic sourcing held at London’s Swissotel The Howard was sponsored by Tata Consultancy Services, Frictionless Commerce, Hudson and TPI. Over 120 delegates from blue chip and professional firms attended, some from as far as South Africa. Participant feedback praised the performance of facilitator Mike Southon, the popular ‘Beermat Entrepreneur’, the quality of the speakers, which included experts from IBM, Jones Lang LaSalle, GlaxoSmithKline, Slaughter & May and IBM, and the accomplished event organisation. The conference was also attended by the industry’s trade press, thus guaranteeing that both Robert and his conference featured in SUPPLY MANAGEMENT Magazine afterwards.
